Of the 110,000 plus licensed architects, less than 400 of them were African American females. Tiera Hughes was baffled and, not only that, it was really hard for her to find information on these ladies on a consolidated reference standard somewhere. The mission of First 500 is to provide the information of all of the female, African American licensed architects to have it compiled in one location and have it readily available.
