I joined Twitter in 2009, after my friend Susan Serra suggested that I was missing out on the social media fun. I signed up and Susan quickly introduced me to California architect Neal Pann. Since that day, I’ve been a member of a growing virtual family from around the world connected through the vast digital network.
Today, I am following over 2,700 people, most architects or designers sharing their lives through 140 characters. Each day I check in to visit, learn from what others are writing and contribute my own thoughts on architecture and business.
If you haven’t yet participated on Twitter, I recommend you give it a try. It’s difficult to explain the interest gained by these many short interactions. Small firm architects benefit from camaraderie and support offered by others in similar positions. Relationships are formed and friendships are forged.
Want to get started? Sign up and follow me @EntreArchitect and 25 of my architect friends. Check in daily for 14 days and you’ll be hooked. After your two week trial, send me a tweet and let me know if I was right.
Here are 25 architects you should follow on Twitter today:

Great list, Mark.
Talina Edwards Architecture says
Thanks for the list – I’ve now added a heap more great people to follow! (I already followed about 5 or so on this list).
I love twitter…but struggle to find time to keep up with all the news! I want to read it all…and that’s not possible. Any tips?

You should also follow @JodyBrownArch and @architexts. We all need to laugh, and both of them have the very witty sense of humor that only architects find funny 🙂
Mark R. LePage says
Excellent suggestions. There are many more that should be on the list. The 25 I listed are the people with whom I interact most. Jody Brown and Architext are absolutely top shelf tweeters 🙂
Rachel Burton, AIA says
Mark, your encouragement to follow this group of architects is a great way to try twitter and make some really great connections. I would add that expanding that search to other architects is a rewarding second step
Karen Robichaud (@karenelainer) says
Curious if there are firms you admire or find use Twitter particularly well. Or maybe no firm has really mastered it yet?
Elrond Burrell says
Thanks for the mention Mark and interesting list. I’m sure Ben will be pleased to be elevated (?) to being an architect! (oops, that might kick off a while different debate!!) It would be good to see what architects other architects follow too, I might put a similar list together.
